Snowbound: A photography exhibition by Sam Mellish

Sun 4th Feb

from 6pm
Following in the footsteps of GB Park & Pipe, Great Britain’s freestyle ski and snowboard squad, Snowbound is an exhibition which documents hard work, determination and pushing boundaries.

New work from Sam Mellish, supported by Matt Georges, explores what it takes to be in this elite team as they train and compete on the global circuit.

Images were captured across the world from Canada to Australia via the best European snow parks and the dry slopes of England.

Featuring Olympians Aimee Fuller, Billy Morgan, James Woods, Jamie Nicholls and Katie Summerhayes as well as a bunch of rising stars, the work is raw observation of training, commitment, hard work, and dealing with pressure, in an arena where tricks are bigger, harder, faster and the risks are greater.

Come along to the 2018 reopening of House of Vans and exhibition launch on Thursday 25th January from 18:00.

On the night, pick up a free limited edition, uniquely numbered, exhibition supplement as well as a product giveaway courtesy of TSA - The Snowboard Asylum. PLUS catch a screening of the short doc from Life Cinematic, highlighting the teams progression since the 2014/15 winter.

All images by Sam Mellish captured during 2017, with supporting work by French snowboard photographer Matt Georges.
